Cameroon’s Ministries of Agriculture and Commerce are reviewing corn import licensing following reported official imports of more than 80,000 MT, alongside an estimated 50,000 MT of informal cross-border outflows.
Authorities are considering temporary measures to curb imports and protect domestic producers, although no restriction has been confirmed.
For feed manufacturers in Douala that depend on imported corn, the policy review introduces near-term supply uncertainty and potential sourcing risks, particularly if import controls are implemented.
