Grain prices are rising across key urban markets in Mali and Burkina Faso, with white corn reaching approximately $407/MT (230,000 FCFA/MT) and sorghum $430/MT (243,000 FCFA/MT) in Bamako and Ouagadougou, according to the Permanent Inter-State Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS).
Feed manufacturers remain heavily dependent on grain flows through the Port of Abidjan, leaving procurement costs exposed to price and logistics pressures.
Sustained grain price increases could further tighten feed margins and encourage mills to diversify sourcing and evaluate alternative feed ingredients.
